Quick answer: AMD and Microsoft made FSR Upscaling 4.1.2 available to Xbox developers in the October 2026 GDK, the first ML-based FSR on Xbox Series X|S. The same FSR SDK covers ROG Xbox Ally handhelds, and ASUS already has a preview driver for the Ally X and X20.

AMD FSR Upscaling 4.1.2 is now in the hands of Xbox console developers. AMD GPUOpen and Microsoft say the October 2026 Game Development Kit brings the first machine-learning FSR upscaler to Xbox Series X|S, after years of analytical FSR on those machines.
On Series X and Series S, the GDK sample includes a Full INT8 model and a lighter Lite INT8 model that is less than half the size and costs less GPU time. Both models run on both consoles, and developers can switch between them at runtime to compare image quality and upscaling cost. Memory use depends on render and display resolution, not which model you pick.

Integration uses the same AMD FSR SDK API as on Windows. Quality modes match the PC set: Native AA, Quality, Balanced, Performance and Ultra Performance. Registered Xbox developers get AMD-signed console binaries through the GDK.
The same SDK also covers ROG Xbox Ally handhelds. With FSR SDK 2.4, FSR Upscaling supports the Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme and Ryzen Z2 A chips in those devices. ASUS already offers a preview driver for the ROG Xbox Ally X and Ally X20 that upgrades DirectX 12 games with FSR 3.1 or newer; Ally support is listed for a later update. Games still have to integrate the SDK, so this is not a system-wide toggle on console or handheld.
