DroidDeck 0.6.0 Adds Xbox and PC Game Pass, an itch.io Store and Hardware-Encoded Remote Play

By Jerry VanOster · Oct 22, 2026

Quick answer: The open-source app that runs Steam and Windows games on Snapdragon Android handhelds adds an experimental Game Pass store, itch.io, touchscreen gestures, faster Adreno performance and hardware-encoded Remote Play.

DroidDeck 0.6.0 is out, just days after version 0.5.0 added Epic's launcher. The open-source project runs Steam and Windows games on Snapdragon Android handhelds, and this update adds more places to get those games.

The big one is experimental Xbox and PC Game Pass support as a store. You sign in with a Microsoft account to see your owned and Game Pass games, then download them with pause and resume, updates, file verification and add-on management. The games launch through Proton or FEX, from DroidDeck's Games tab or straight from Steam. There's also a new itch.io store that uses your itch.io API key, and DRM-free Windows builds from it install and launch through Steam.

Steam Remote Play from DroidDeck now streams video as well as audio and input, using the phone's hardware encoder. On an AYN Thor, the developers measured 7.3 to 8.0 ms per frame to encode, down from 50 to 90 ms with software encoding.

Performance work includes Turnip's tile rendering for games on Adreno GPUs. In PEAK on an Adreno 840 tablet, the frame rate rose 11.7%, and Steam was ready 35.9% sooner after a session started. Games on an SD card library load much faster, and the device can now properly sleep while a session is suspended. Other additions include configurable touchscreen gestures, a frame-time graph in the performance HUD and a smaller APK, down from 124.4 MB to 66.4 MB.

The project's GitHub page says DroidDeck doesn't have a stand-alone website and warns against download links from sites claiming to be the team. It's released through its GitHub releases page.
