GPD has confirmed that its next clamshell handheld, the WIN Mini Ultra, uses Intel's Arc G3 Extreme. The company shared a Handhelds United podcast episode on Weibo and hinted that the launch is getting close, but it hasn't announced a release date or price yet.

The Arc G3 Extreme is Intel's Panther Lake chip made for gaming handhelds. It has 14 CPU cores (two Performance, eight Efficient and four Low Power Efficient) and Arc B390 integrated graphics with 12 Xe3 cores.

The rest of the specs come from GPD retailer DROIX, which says details could still change before the official announcement. The listing shows an 8-inch 1920x1200 IPS screen at 120Hz with variable refresh rate, up from the 7-inch 1080p panel on the WIN Mini 2025. Memory is 32GB or 64GB of LPDDR5X-8533, and there's an M.2 2280 SSD slot that supports PCIe 5.0, two 80Gbps USB4 v2 ports and a microSD Express reader. The cooling is built for up to 45W, and the device also supports GPD's G1 and G2 eGPU docks.

The bigger body holds a 56Wh battery with 100W USB-PD charging, compared to 44Wh on the WIN Mini 2025. It's also much heavier, at a reported 845 grams versus 555 grams for the older model.

An engineering sample has already shown up in a hands-on video from Chinese creator MuBuS on October 24. VideoCardz says the creator talked about better triggers, an improved keyboard and a new two-fan cooling system. GPD hasn't said when orders open, but DROIX says a crowdfunding launch is planned soon.

The WIN Mini Ultra joins a growing group of Arc G3 handhelds, including the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ and the Acer Predator Atlas 8.
