Quick answer: Digital Foundry found Modern Warfare 4's Switch 2 campaign holds a locked 30fps and multiplayer mostly hits 60fps, but measured multiplayer input lag at 81ms docked and 100ms handheld, against 49ms on PS5.

Digital Foundry has published its full analysis of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on Switch 2, and the port from Digital Legends holds up well on frame rate. The weak spot is input lag in multiplayer, especially in handheld mode.
The campaign runs at a locked 30fps across nearly all missions, with some traversal hitches in fast driving sections. DMZ targets 40fps when the console is connected to a 120Hz display. Multiplayer aims for 60fps and mostly gets there, though busy firefights, heavy smoke or looking through a riot shield's visor can drop it into the 50s or high 40s. VRR helps on supported displays, and DF says handheld play has more frequent dips.

Input lag is where it falls behind. Testing with wireless controllers, DF measured multiplayer latency at 49ms on PS5 at 60Hz, 81ms on Switch 2 docked and 100ms on Switch 2 in handheld. The handheld result varied a lot, from 83ms at best to 125ms at worst. DF says that's 64 percent higher than PS5 docked and double it in handheld, which puts Switch 2 players at a competitive disadvantage.
On image quality, docked mode uses a dynamic resolution targeting 900p with DLSS, dropping as low as 450p in heavy scenes, while SMAA can go up to 1080p. Handheld mode uses a dynamic 720p that can dip to 360p. DF says DLSS handles thin details and transparencies much better, while SMAA keeps more fine detail in still scenes. Compared to PS5, textures are lower resolution, shadows are reduced and screen-space reflections are gone. The install is 88GB versus 120GB on PS5.
IGN also reported on DF's latency numbers. We covered the Switch 2 launch and Nintendo Life's review and the early DLSS vs SMAA look earlier.
