If you couldn't get a preorder for the Nintendo Switch 2 – The Legend of Zelda – 40th Anniversary Edition, Nintendo says more are on the way. In an interview with the YouTube channel Coelho no Japão, reported by Nintendo Life, Nintendo's Latin America Vice President and General Manager Bill van Zyll admitted the company "underestimated" demand for the console.

Van Zyll called it "a global phenomenon" and apologized for the shortages, saying some markets stand out, and he named North America as one of them. He also said Nintendo is "working on replenishments of the special hardware and software, but it'll take a little bit of time," and asked fans to be patient. He didn't give a date.
Nintendo Life adds that in Europe the system has been coming in and out of stock at different retailers in recent weeks. Nintendo's US store lists the bundle at $519.99 with a release date of October 29, 2026. It includes the themed system, green and gold Joy-Con 2 controllers and a black and gold dock with the Triforce symbol, but no game.
My take: If you missed out, I really wouldn't pay scalper prices for this one. Nintendo is saying outright that more hardware is coming. "A little bit of time" isn't a date, but it's enough for me to be patient rather than overpay for a console that hasn't even launched yet.
