October 22 is the date for PEAK on consoles. Aggro Crab and Landfall's co-op climbing game launches that day on Switch 2, PS5 and Xbox Series, and Gematsu reports it will support cross-play between all platforms. Nintendo Life says the Switch 2 version includes every content update the game has received over the past year.
If you haven't played it, PEAK puts you and up to three friends on a mysterious island where the only way out is climbing the mountain in the middle. There are four biomes, proximity chat, questionable food to scavenge, climbing items like ropes and spikes, and a map that rotates every 24 hours. You can play online co-op or solo offline. It first launched on PC through Steam on June 16, 2025.
Skybound Games is also releasing a physical PS5 edition for $19.99 / €19.99 / £14.99, per Gematsu. It includes the disc, a printed passport and an extra game code for a friend. Nintendo Life says there's no exact date for the physical release yet, and only the PS5 version was shown.
My take: this is a game built around playing with friends, so cross-play at launch is the biggest thing for me. Having it portable on Switch 2 makes a lot of sense, and I'm curious how it holds up on Switch 2 compared to playing the PC version on a Steam Deck.
