PS5 emulation on PC is moving fast, though it's still rough. Wccftech reports on a new Geralt Benchmarks video showing Bluepoint's Demon's Souls remake running above 60fps at 1440p with the original PS5 graphics settings. The test system pairs a Ryzen 7 9800X3D with an RTX 5070, running developer chenxiao07's fork of KyTyPS5, version v20261017. KyTyPS5 is an unofficial emulator, not anything from Sony.

With DLAA and DLSS Frame Generation at 2X, the game gets close to 120fps at 1440p, and the video also shows 1080p with DLAA, with and without frame gen. Frame gen numbers aren't the same as native performance. DLSS Super Resolution isn't supported yet, 1440p is the max resolution, and Wccftech says frequent stuttering and frame pacing problems are still there. According to the video's creator, only a few weeks ago the game struggled to reach 5fps on an RTX 5090 system.
VideoCardz says players are now finishing whole games. One Reddit user reported completing Astro Bot on a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and RX 9070 XT, hitting 60fps about 80% of the time, with broken water and cloud effects and shader compilation stutter, but no crashes. Another finished Astro's Playroom on an RTX 3050 at 1080p and 25 to 30fps. Demon's Souls has also reportedly been completed through KyTyPS5.
The setups named in these reports are regular PCs, from a 9800X3D desktop down to an RTX 3050 system. Neither source mentions a handheld running any of it.
My take: this is impressive progress, but it's still an unofficial project with stutter and graphical bugs. If it keeps improving at this pace, handhelds could get interesting down the road. I wouldn't buy one expecting to play PS5 games on it anytime soon, though.
