Quick answer: Valve's Steam Scream V event is live now with discounts on horror games and runs until November 2 at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET). It's the fifth year of the event, and the sale page has a filter for Steam Deck Verified and Playable games.
Valve's Halloween sale is back. Steam Scream V went live on October 26, and Valve says it's the fifth year of the event. Horror games are discounted across the Steam Store until November 2 at 10 a.m. PT, which is 1 p.m. ET.
Valve's announcement doesn't list specific games or discount amounts. It describes the lineup as horror of all kinds, from psychological and slasher games to sillier spooky stuff, and it comes with a short trailer. Prices and discounts vary by game, so check each store page before you buy.
For Steam Deck owners, the Steam Scream sale page has a filter that shows only games rated Steam Deck Verified or Playable. That's the quickest way to narrow the list down to games Valve has checked on the Deck. The same rating also helps if you're shopping for a Steam Machine or a SteamOS handheld, but on Windows handhelds like the Xbox Ally X, Legion Go 2 or MSI Claw it only tells you about Deck testing, so performance can still be different.
The sale page has other filters too, including free-to-play and VR games. You can get to it from the Steam Store on a PC or from the Store tab in the Deck's Game Mode. The event ends November 2 at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET).
